PORT TALBOT 1 - 2 CITY
17 DECEMBER 2011
MIKE SMITH'S REPORT
Bangor won 2-1 at The Genquip despite playing with ten men for eighty minutes
The fateful moment came in the tenth minute when Mike Walsh was red carded for a heavy challenge on Lewis Harlin who was replaced by Sacha Walters.
Bangor refused to panic, re-organised with three at the back, took the game to Port Talbot and won.
The first goal came from leading goalscorer Les Davies on 29 minutes and within a minute strike partner Kyle Wilson continued his rich vein of form with a sixth goal of the season. Talbot responded with a goal from Martin Rose although City fans disputed whether the ball actually crossed the line.
So at half time City led 2-1 and a chance of Nev Powell and Marc Limbert to reassess.
In the end the second half could not quite live up to the first, with neither goals nor major incidents to report, although Bangor could feel proud of how well the ten men competed and stood their ground. And of course three vital points in the final away game of 2011.
