Bangor lost at home for the second time on the bounce and once again it was a game they should have won. And as often before it was a game tarnished by some questionable refereeing and poor sportsmanship by Prestatyn and in particular manager Neil Gibson.
Gibson found himself on the grass inside four minutes moments before a first corner for the visitors ended in Lee Hunt being crowded out in front of goal.
Bangor forced an early opening when Les Davies shot on the turn but goalkeeper Dave Roberts saved comfortably. On seven minutes Damien Allen picked up an injury which saw him replaced by Jamie McDaid moments later. Andy Parkinson spotted a free kick which found it target but Lee Idzi saved.
By the quarter hour mark Bangor had settled into some passing and movement which resulted in Dec Walker crossing from the right and Sion Edwards seeing his shot saved by Roberts. Three minutes later Edwards was booked for a foul on Chris Davies. But two minutes further on Lee Hunt was very fortunate that Referee Huw Jones adjudged a two footed lunge on Rob Jones worthy only of a yellow card and not red.
With some twenty minutes to go to half time Hunt again dived in a late on Rob Jones but this time the referee gave nothing.
On the half hour Referee Jones actually tried to control player manager Gibson with an instruction to quieten down which he promptly ignored. Les Davies charged goalwards down the left before unleashing a cross shot which just evaded Jamie Petrie, then young substitute Jamie McDaid fired on taget but Roberts saved.
With ten minutes to go Neil Gibson stuck an elbow in Chris Jones' face but this was not punished. Five minutes before the interval Prestatyn won their second corner of the evening which Lee Idzi held. Then Dec Walker was shown the yellow card for a foul on Lee Hunt.
Prestatyn pressed but failed to force and opening before Sion Edwards found time and space but volleyed wide from the right. Andy Parkinson was shown the yellow card.
The whistle blew for half time but the action was not over as Neil Gibson pushed Nev Powell in the chest - violent conduct perhaps in some circles - but was shown the yellow card by Mr Jones.
HALF TIME 0-0 No changes at the interval but with City now attacking the Bangor end.
An early chance for Bangor - route one style - as Lee Idzi's big clearance was headed on by Les Davies to Chris Jones but again Dave Roberts intervened.
Ross Stephens appeared to grab Rob Jones around the throat but again no action by Mr Jones.
Bangor went close again as Jack Lewis made a mistake which let in Chris Jones but Roberts saved his shot.
On 50 minutes though Chris Roberts was yellow carded and Prestatyn awarded a freekick on the right which Ross Stephens curled goalwards and Michael Parker headed home ahead of Lee Idzi to put the visitors ahead.
Three minutes later Les Davies won Bangor's first corner which Sion Edwards delivered and birthday boy Anthony Miley headed downwards but goalscorer Parker hacked off the line.
Prestatyn responded with a couple of corners after Lee Idzi saved bravely from Lee Hunt.
On the hour Gareth Wilson replaced Michael Parker in the Prestatyn midfield and moments later Rob Jones did well to block a shot from Andy Parkinson who had been well marshalled by the new look Bangor back four.
Bangor started to pass the ball around once more and Sion Edwards unleashed a rasping drive before Les Davies skimmed the upright from twelve yards. With twenty minutes to go Sion Edwards crossed but Roberts again saved Les Davies' header. Prestatyn broke through Parkinson but Anthony Miley won warm applause with his well timed tackle.
Dave Roberts saved well from Chris Jones before Les Davies shot on the turn but his effort flew over.
John Owen came on for Sion Edwards with ten minutes left.
Thirteen minutes to go and rightback Chris Davies was yellow carded for a kick on Sion Edwards then Rhys Owen replaced player manager Gibson who left the pitch as slowly as possible.
Rob Jones was yellow carded before Murray replaced Parkinson who had made little impact on proceedings.
Jamie Petrie and Chris Jones both went close before Roberts saved from Jamie McDaid and in the final frantic four minutes of added time Bangor did everything but score with Ryan Edwards also denied.
Dec Walker headed over Roberts but long serving defender Dave Hayes scrambled the ball off the line. In the final minute though a Prestatyn corner put a brake on the action and Referee Jones blew for time. A game Bangor certainly did not deserve to lose but - as the saying goes - thats football.
