Dear Sir,
My late father, Gwilym Pritchard who died in 1985 aged 70 years was a keen supporter of the City since his childhood. When in his 50's and 60's he was the BCFC S upporter's Club Secretary with his shop/office in the High Street almost opposite the High Steet entrance. He was also, over many years the announcer over the public address system. His enthusiasm for the club was passed over to me who has happy memories as a youngster of football matches at Farrar Road. My home is in Y Felinheli but I now live most of the year in sunny Spain but when visiting my mother try to time my visit to coincide with a home game.
Former players who had an impact on me as a youngster are many and I wonder what became of some of them. Many I suppose have passed on but one in particular was a left winger called Eric Betts. Another was Wyles, also Pringle, Roland Depear, Tommy Jones, Higgins (he left to either live or play in Bogota, Colombia), Fazackerly, Peter Corr and a centre forwardwith the first name of Len (I've forgotten his surname) who was not a player of great skill but had more energy and enthusiasm than most of the team put together.
Happy days in the 1950's.
Best wishes to the City
Meurig Pritchard (Spain, Mon 13/10/03)

GOOD START TO THE SEASON RICK, HOPE NICOLA AND SHANNON ARE WELL, FROM STEVE NICOLA AND MATHEW (ALCUDIA 10/9/03). |
Bangor City needs support to survive especially as we are looking to move to a new stadium, come along to see the Citizens. We have a great team, after all, coming 3rd in the league last season, and runners up in the cup is a is a great result. Come and support the lads. Ian 4/9/03 |
My friend from Rochdale said that Clayton Blackmore played for Castleton Gabriels before coming to Bangor, can anyone confirm this? Chris 29/8/03 |
Bangor needs this new stadium desperately, to give us a boost and to attract more supporters. We will not have to play away when we have European cup games. Neil 19/06/03 |
I was wondering if I could have a trial to become a player at your football club because I am an unrecognised talent? As a Wrexham supporter, I think to represent a welsh team in europe, you have to be a decent side, unfortunately you (Bangor City) are no where near good enough. Wrexham could do ten times better in Europe than you. I think as a player I am more talented than all of you Bangor players. But unfortunately like a lot of us in this world, our talent was not able to be recognised for a variety of reasons. I'm not bearing any grudges. Westley Woodcraft. Sat 28/06/2003. |
