Players who have progressed into the Enlgish Football League

Tony Coleman
02.05.1945

A former Stoke City apprentice who made a handful of appearances for Tranmere and Preston prior to his move to Farrar Road in 1964.
After some sensational goals and impressive performances for City he moved to Doncaster Rovers and then Manchester City for whom he made 86 League appearances.

Barry Ashworth
18.08.1942

Stockport born defender whose career began at Farrar Road in the early 1960s before a move to Southend in 1963.  Further transfers to Hartlepool, Tranmere and Chester City before returning to mastermind Bangor's escape from relegation from the NPL in the early 1970s.

John Hughes
04.05.1951

Anglesey lad John was a Blackpool junior who moved from Bangor to Altrincham before taking in a spell with Stockport County before his return to Farrar Road where he once again scored goals season after season.

Neville Southall
16.09.1958

Primarily a reserve at Farrar Road and initially no sign of the career to come with moves to Winsford and then Bury.  However mention his name to Everton fans or Welsh football followers and the word legend comes along, so too a ranking as one of the World's finest goalkeepers.

John McClelland
07.12.1955

Tall Irish defender moved to Bangor to live and work after being released by Cardiff City.  His pace and composure had to be noticed sooner or later and it was Mansfield who took the gamble in 1978, before high profile moves to Rangers and Leeds United and International caps for Northern Ireland.

Mark Carter
17.12.1960

Better known as Spike, a hard working striker signed from South Liverpool who moved to Runcorn, Barnet and then Bury where he retained his eye for a goal and extreme work ethic.
