CITY SIGN FORMER FC UNITED STRIKER KYLE WILSON
City boss Nev Powell today pulled off another major transfer coup by completing the capture of former FC United of Manchester goal-machine Kyle Wilson.
The 25-year-old striker is the son of former Caernarfon Town player and manager Phil Wilson.
Wilson, who started his career at Crewe Alexandra, was one of the top-scorers in the 2008-09 Evo-Stik League Premier Division campaign, with his stunning return of 24 goals in 32 games earning him a move from FC United to the Football League with Macclesfield Town.
The move did not work out, however, and he was released by the Silkmen at the the end of the 2009-10 season, when he signed for the newly reformed Chester FC, where he started 16 matches scoring 6 goals after signing for them in September 2010.
Nev commented 'Kyle is a proven goalscorer who will add quality to the squad. He signed for us even though he had been offered better money at other clubs and we welcome him and Lee Idzi to the squad along with the return to the fold of Mike Walsh.'
'I am still in talks with other players as I look to consolidate on our excellent season last season. We all realise how difficult it will be to retain the WPL this season, however, both Marc Limbert and myself are working hard to sign quality players within our budget.'
