HONOURS A-PLENTY FOR CITY STARS

Bangor City was once again amonst the honours at last night's Welsh Premier League Annual Dinner, held in Cardiff.

Neville Powell was crowned Manager of the Year for the second successive season, whilst the club also scooped the League's Fair Play award, awarded not only for the behaviour of players on the pitch but also for the demeanour of club officials and fans.

City defender Michael Johnston was shortlisted for the Player of the Year award, but on this occasion had to give best to Llanelli striker Rhys Griffiths who also claimed the Golden Boot award.

Receiving the League Trophy on behalf of the club, Chairman Dilwyn Jones said, 'It is an understatement to say that I am delighted with the progress that Bangor City has made this season.'

'Congratulations to Neville, his management team and the players, and thanks also to my co-Directors and colleagues on the Club's Management Board who have ensured that the progress we are showing on the field is matched by what we are achieving off the field.'

'My sincerest thanks also to our incredible supporters who yet again have been the 'twelfth man' for us. No-one who was present at that fantastic title-winning match against The New Saints will ever forget the emotion and passion of that occasion.'

'We're enjoying this moment, but make no mistake, planning for next season is already well under way, and we're very much looking forward to our first-ever Champions' League campaign.'
