THIRD TROPHY FOR CITY BOSS NEVILLE POWELL

There can’t be much room left in the trophy cabinet at the home of Bangor City manager Neville Powell as the Citizens’ popular boss has collected his third trophy in just a few weeks.

Neville won the Sports Champion award at the Scottish Power Trinity Mirror awards dinner held in Llandudno last weekend. Trinity Mirror is the parent group for the ‘Bangor Mail’ title " a staunch supporter of Bangor City FC.

This accolade comes hot on the heels of his Principality Welsh Premier League Manager of the Month trophy for August/September and the Football Association of Wales ‘Services to Welsh Football Award’ received at the FAW’s annual awards dinner in Cardiff.

Neville was of course also voted Principality Welsh Premier League Manager of the Year for 2009/10 at the League’s annual dinner held last June " this award was made in part for his fantastic achievement in leading City to three successive Welsh Cup final victories.

Congratulating Neville, City Chairman Dilwyn Jones said, “These are richly deserved awards. It’s typical of Neville that he’s not resting on his laurels  as we have made an excellent start to the new season, leading the league table by 11 points, with 10 wins out of 10 under our belts. Our next match at third-placed Neath (Saturday 23 October 2010, KO 15.45, with live S4C coverage) will be another tough challenge, but I know that Neville and the lads will be well up for it.”
