CITY SNAP UP DEFENDER MOSS

Bangor City are pleased to announce the signing of 29 year old Darren Moss.

Darren is an experienced player with over 300 football league appearances to his name.

He started his career as a trainee at Chester where he went on to play 62 league games, before joining Shrewsbury in 2001, scoring the winning penalty in the play-off semi final against Barnet.

Darren’s good form led to Crewe paying £170,000 for him in March 2005 before he re-joined Shrewsbury in May 2007 on a free transfer.

He made a further 56 appearances for Shrewsbury before joining Morecambe in June 2009. He started in the first seven games of this season before he left Morecambe by mutual consent in October 2010 due to the travelling.

Commenting on his latest signing, Bangor City manager Nev Powell said, "I am pleased that Darren has agreed to join Bangor City and I am sure he will fit in well with the group of players that we currently have."

"We have strengthened our squad by adding an experienced player who will help us further in our quest for the league championship and our ambition of European football for a fourth successive season."

"The signing of such a high quality player, even though a number of other clubs were chasing his signature, signals our ambitions as a club. "

Darren Moss commented, "I am pleased to have signed for Bangor City and after watching them recently against The New Saints not only was I surprised at the standard of their football, but the obvious team spirit that they have at the club shone through."

"On top of that the support that they had at TNS was excellent and I look forward to helping the club move forward and repaying the fans for their obvious loyal support."

"This is the right move at this stage of my career and I can’t wait to get on the pitch and playing for Bangor City, which undoubtedly, after speaking to some of the experienced players in the squad is the biggest and best club in the Welsh Premier League".
