BANGOR CITY TAKE OCCUPATION OF NEW NANTPORTH STADIUM
Bangor City Football Club is delighted to announce that it has now taken possession of its new stadium at Nantporth.
Keys to the stadium were handed over at a meeting yesterday (Friday) and legal formalities will be completed within a few days.
Welcoming the news, City Chairman Dilwyn Jones said, ‘I am absolutely thrilled that we are now able to move into Nantporth and enter an exciting new era in the development of Bangor City FC. It has been a long time in the coming, and has involved an incredible amount of work by a large number of people, but we’re here at last, and will use this as a springboard to even greater achievement for the Club.’
Dilwyn Jones continued. ‘I would like to thank all involved in completing this major project, particularly colleagues and supporters within Bangor City FC, former City Chairman Ken Jones who did so much preparatory work for us, City of Bangor Council and the development team.'
City’s first match at the new stadium will be against Caernarfon Wanderers in the North Wales Coast FA Challenge Cup this coming Tuesday, 24 January, KO 19.30. The first Welsh Premier League match at Nantporth is scheduled for Saturday 4 February, when the opposition will be Prestatyn Town (KO 15.45).
