Bangor City FC Play Host to Disability Schools Festival

Wednesday 13th May saw Bangor City FC play host to a North Wales Disability Schools Festival on the 2* 3G pitch at The Book People Stadium. This was another fantastic event to be hosted in partnership with the Welsh Football Trust at the stadium, since the opening of the 3G pitch in July 2014 and represented the first disability schools festival to be held at Bangor City. It was a great day with over 50 players from U12 to U18 taking part in a morning of fun football sessions which enabled players to develop their skills in shooting and dribbling as well as playing fun games and small sided matches and then an afternoon of matches against players from the other schools. The festival provided players with a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills, meet new people, play football and most importantly have fun within the inspirational and motivational setting of a Welsh Premier League football club. There were players from across North Wales in attendance with Ysgol Pendalar, Ysgol Y Gogarth and Ysgol Maes Hyfryd all supporting the event. Bangor City Community Officer Ethan Ray said “it was a great festival to host at Bangor City such a great opportunity for these players to come to the empowering setting of a Welsh Premier League club, play football, develop their skills and make new friends with other players from across North Wales, it is fantastic to have the facility here to be able to host these types of events and see the benefit it brings to the participants involved and we look forward to hosting more in the future!!!”
