CARMARTHEN TOWN 0 - 1 CITY: We held on to top spot in the WPL thanks to a penalty award, our fifth of the campaign.
Defender Dave Morley converted for the only goal of the game at Carmarthen Town's Richmond Park after sub Antonio Faccuito was adjudged to have brought down Jamie Reed three minutes after half-time.
The Old Gold had several chances to level, notably from Keiran Howard and Craig Frater, but found City keeper Paul Smith in top form.
MATTHEW HURDMAN: Our young midfielder Matthew Hurdman has been transferred to Cefn Druids. Matthew joined City from Wrexham in January 2010 and is a central midfielder who has been capped by Wales at U-17 and U-19 levels. Matthew made 5 substitute WPL appearances for us, as well as featuring in our 2010 Europa League campaign. We wish Matthew al the best in his future career.
INTERNATIONAL CALL-UP FOR CITY STARS: City's Michael Johnston and Jamie Reed have been called up to the Wales U-23 squad for the semi-pro encounter with England later this month. City winger Sion Edwards is on squad standby. Newtown's Latham Park stages the game on Tuesday 14 September (kick-off 19.30). Admission is £6 adults and £3 concessions.
HAYDN JONES: Tributes have been paid to former City player Haydn Jones who died at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor on Tuesday night. Haydn, originally from Caer Saint, had trials for Arsenal. He said: "I was only there for three days and got homesick. Ian Ure, the Scottish international, gave me the money to get the train home."
Haydn later had a three-month trial for Watford and played for Wrexham, Caernarfon, Bangor City , Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Blaenau Ffestiniog Rhyl and Bethesda then back to Caernarfon Town as player manager.
Haydn's funeral will be held at Bangor Crematorium, on Monday at 12 noon. The sympathies of all at City go to Haydn's family and friends.
CITY 2 - 0 LLANELLI: Dave Morley has scored three times from the spot in three games, handing Bangor City an early lead at home to Llanelli after Jamie Reed had been brought down by Stuart Jones.
Reed added a second mid-way through the first-half against the injury-hit Reds as we maintained a 100% start to the season to go top. More reports here ...
